| Discipline Coordinator for Genetics - Susan O. Lewin, M.D. Dr. Susan Lewin is a medical geneticist in the Department of Pediatrics. She is an assistant professor, clinical track. Before becoming a medical geneticist she trained as a pediatrician in South Africa and Canada. She has a longstanding interest in children with developmental and behavioral disabilities, in particular the natural history of these conditions and how interventions can improve the lives of affected children and families. She is also interested in studying the natural history of children with genetic developmental disabilities into adulthood. While in Montana for 12 years, she developed a statewide fetal alcohol network and worked with professionals and families with fetal alcohol syndrome and its spectrum to improve recognition and treatment. She works in the Medical Genetics Outpatient Clinic, Newborn Screening Follow-up Clinic and with the CHSCN team in Salt Lake City and at several outreach clinics. |
