Discipline Coordinator for Speech-Language Pathology-Vicki Simonsmeier, MS, CCC-SLP/Aud
Ms. Simonsmeier is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Communicative Disorders and Deaf
Education. She has 20 years of experience working with local health care providers, hospitals, and State
Department of Health (WI) and is involved in professional organizations at the local, state and national
level. Her specialty is in pediatric populations, especially those who are medically fragile and require
services in the home. Her personal interests include interdisciplinary teaming to provide services to young
children with ND/RD. She has directed several Birth-to-Three programs and has been instrumental in
establishing physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy services in underserved, rural areas in
Wisconsin. She has also provided homebound therapy for culturally diverse populations in urban areas. She
is a strong child/family advocate, and a consultant to insurance companies in an effort to educate and
facilitate good health care. At Utah State University, she is involved in the Speech-Language Hearing Clinic,
Center for Persons with Disabilities (CPD) Clinical Services Evaluation Team and is the Team leader for the CPD
Pediatric Oral-Motor Feeding Clinic. She is currently the President for the Utah Speech Language Hearing
Association.
