Dana Thrash, Nursing
Living in Laramie, Wyoming has opened my eyes to the immense needs of pediatric rural healthcare and I am excited to bring minds together to improve the care of the most vulnerable population - children. I am currently seeking a Doctor in Nursing Practice at the University of Wyoming and plan to begin a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner next summer! I was first introduced to family centered care when working as an intensive care nurse at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia four years ago and I love that family centered care remains a URLEND pillar. I appreciate that together we can encourage interdisciplinary communication to improve our approach to pediatric care. I currently work part time as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children in Denver, Colorado. I have also enjoyed working as an assistant instructor for the undergraduate nursing class at the University of Wyoming and will continue to do so for the upcoming semesters. Although my two jobs and full time graduate school keep me busy, I love international travel, spending time with family and friends, and getting outside - hiking, running, fishing, skiing, and horseback riding! I recently married my college sweetheart and I am currently training for my first marathon - any advice is highly desired!
